The 3-Part Skeleton
Every winning speech has three parts. Master the skeleton and you'll never run out of things to say.
AGD — Attention-Getting Device
First 15 seconds. A quote, a story, or a shocking stat. Judges decide if you're worth listening to in the first sentence.
2–3 Contentions
Each contention = one claim + one reason + one piece of evidence or example. Two strong contentions beats five shallow ones.
Impact Wrap
Last 20 seconds. Tie everything back to one weighing standard (lives, dollars, liberty). Tell the judge how to vote.
