Aff vs Neg — Picking a Side
Affirmative = argue FOR the bill. Negative = argue AGAINST. The strongest debaters can flip — they pick whichever side the chamber needs.

Walk into a chamber where 5 people have spoken Aff and 0 have spoken Neg. Judges score 'chamber needs' — be the Neg. Picking the underspoken side often wins ballots.
Aff job: defend the bill's harm-solving
Show the problem is real, the bill addresses it, and benefits outweigh costs.
Neg job: attack one of the 4 parts, or attack solvency
You don't have to disagree with the goal. You just have to show this bill doesn't get there.
